KFP Reaches 2018 UEFA Champions League Final

4The UEFA Champions League final took place on May 26, 2018, in Kiev, the capital of the Ukraine. And not only were the star-studded teams of Real Madrid and Jürgen Klopp’s FC Liverpool in town, but also KFP’s Five Star team.

PepsiCo. had commissioned BlueFactoryEvents with the event production and event management: the brands Pepsi, Lays and Gatorade were to be staged around the Champions League final respectively – and our media technology experts were in charge to simultaneously provide modern audio, video and lighting equipment for the appropriate background at three locations in the European metropolis.

This logistical masterpiece required a savvy talent for improvisations. Why? Because our KFP staff not only had to deal with a foreign country and a language largely unfamiliar to them, but also with the fact that the Ukraine is not (yet) a member of the European Union. This made logistics quite difficult. After all, the necessary technology for all three events had to be transported to their individual destinations – and short-term changes were the order of the day.

It was in the unique ArtHall D12 located in a 7-story building on Starokyivska Hill, located in the upper historical center of Kiev, where KFP beamed the welcome party into the 21st century with cutting-edge technology.

The Welcome Party in the festively decorated ArtHall D12 at the foot of Starokyivska Hill started on the eve of the Champions League final. Here, KFP’s event professionals created the fitting ambience: a large outdoor LED screen, crisp sound and atmospheric lighting in all spaces, both inside and outside. The 300 exclusive guests enjoyed themselves in the gallery that had been given a football design by renowned artists and Pepsi.

From Delicate Art to Delicious Foods

The following morning, the Business Brunch at the Parkovy Congress and Exhibition Center made for another highlight that required top performance from our KFP specialists. The 800 participants, including well-known speakers such as Pepsi CEO Silviu Popovici, UEFA Events Marketing Director Guy-Laurent Epstein and the two former world-class players Gary Lineker and Andriy Shevchenko, not only wanted to enjoy selected services, but also looked for exquisite entertainment.

During the Business Brunch at the Parkovy Congress and Exhibition Center, KFP staged the numerous renowned participants and artists in the right light.

Just shortly before the event started, it was announced that the star guest would be the singer Dua Lipa. To facilitate her a big appearance, the KFP team constructed a movable, split LED wall measuring 12 x 3.5 meters, allowing the pop queen to appear before her guests from between the two panels. But that was not all: the event professionals staged the whole program respectively, focusing spotlights on dancers, speed painters, orchestras and several other show attractions.

The UEFA Champions League Final: A Curved Experience

The successful Champions League final weekend event was ultimately crowned by the pre and post parties in the UEFA Champions Village, which was staged for sponsors in an enormous tent city near the Kiev Olympic Stadium. Having installed 24 large curved screens, KFP presented the program before and after the big final match in high resolution to the audiences in the tent city. The biggest challenge hereby was to deliver the cutting edge – figuratively speaking.

Constructing the visual “cutting edge” at the pre and post parties in the UEFA Champions Village …

But that’s exactly what the KFP team did on the ground for twelve consecutive days, mastering every difficulty that arose in this major Pepsi and UEFA project. In the end, though, not only the victorious Madrilenians (i.e. those from Madrid) flocking around world star Ronaldo, but also all other participants of the three events taking place at the ArtHall D12, the Congress and Exhibition Center Parkovy and in the Pepsi Tent City of the UEFA Champions Village, were able to literally feel like royals.
